Philanthropy New Year School

The Philanthropy New-Year school is an annual event for Philanthropy Actors, CSO, NGO, Development Practitioners, Corporate Foundations, Community Foundations, Community-Based Organisations, etc. for actors to acquire core technical and professional competencies that boost their professional competences in the third sector.

The New Year school is held in January of each year in partnership with Higher educational Institutions.  The sector is a multidisciplinary, one at the same time, a free space, with almost no barrier to entry. It is said that passion does not equate to skill or talent. Better educated and more motivated development practitioners means they can better fulfill our missions and serve our communities.

Professional development in the social sector is a vital tool for strengthening organizational effectiveness in the face of continuous change. Policy makers, donor agencies and other supporters of NGOs have a vested interest in seeing sector become more knowledgeable in credible third sector practices, emerging trends, managing resources, accountability and to achieve financial sustainability, among others.
