Community Foundations

The Ghana Philanthropy Forum, PureTrust Foundation, Star Ghana Foundation among others are promoting the Community Foundation movement in Ghana. The project is principally being sponsored by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, USA, through the South Africa branch. So far over 20 Community Foundations have been established in Ghana and others, at different stages of their development.

GPF plays a catalytic role in enabling communities to establish structures that help them take charge of their community needs and future. Through the CF concept GPF provides training in accountability, transparency, governance, record keeping, resource mobilization, etc. in order to strengthen the board, personnel and working groups in the community.
