Ghana has been ranked one of the most generous countries globally in the 2025 World Giving Report, jointly produced by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and the Ghana Philanthropy Forum (GPF). According to the report, 82% of Ghanaians donated money in 2024, significantly above the global average of 64%, while the country also ranked 4th globally in the percentage of income donated (2.19%).
This year’s report highlights the deep-rooted culture of giving embedded in Ghanaian society—driven by religious values, community solidarity, and a commitment to helping those in need. Ghanaians not only give consistently but also support causes that directly benefit children, the elderly, and those affected by poverty.
The Ghana Philanthropy Forum, as a key partner of CAF, continues to promote structured giving and advocate for a strong philanthropic ecosystem. The data confirms the growing strength of civic engagement and trust in civil society, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a global leader in generosity.
